Side table, model D.S.2, designed in 1918. Produced by: Cassina, Milan, Italy, since 1975. Ash wood, stained black. Manufacturer's label on the underside of the table.
The table D.S.2 originally belonged to a dining room ensemble planned for a country house by the English industrialist W. J. Bassett-Lowkes, who initially rejected the designs due to their radical nature and reduced formal language. Therefore the table was never produced during Mackintosh's lifetime.
